About Apprentice CSCS Card

The Apprentice CSCS Card is for those starting a construction career through a recognised apprenticeship programme. It confirms you're actively training in a construction trade. To apply, you'll need proof of apprenticeship status from your employer or training provider, including your registration number. The card is valid for 4 years and 6 months and cannot be renewed—you must upgrade once qualified.

Who Can Apply for the Apprentice CSCS Card?

You also need to pass the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for your trade, valid within 2 years. Applicants must provide valid photo ID and proof of apprenticeship status, including a registration number and confirmation letter from a training provider or employer.

How to Apply for the Apprentice CSCS Card

1. Enroll in an Approved Apprenticeship Program
   Make sure you are actively enrolled in a recognised UK construction apprenticeship.

2. Pass the Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) Test
   Complete the HS&E Test relevant to your trade and obtain a valid pass certificate.

3. Prepare Required Documents
   Gather your HS&E Test certificate, proof of identity (passport or driving licence), proof of apprenticeship status, and a recent passport photo.

4. Submit Your Application

5. Receive Your Card
   After approval, your Apprentice CSCS Card will be delivered within 7–10 working days.

6. Keep Your Card Current
   The card is valid during your apprenticeship—remember to renew or upgrade it as you gain experience.
